The Oklahoma Contemporary building is a striking sculptural structure. When the sun sets, the building turns the color of the horizon. This is a unique visual experience, a truly beautiful site for a cultural event. It also serves as a dedicated stop on a new streetcar, serving the greater downtown area. The building’s sculptural facade is comprised of a series of extruded aluminum fins that extend from the ground to the building’s parapet. The building’s exterior shell is bright-dipped aluminum, creating a luminous facade.

The Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center’s architecture is inspired by the local landscape. It is designed to create an urban environment that is conducive to artistic expression. The four-story arts center is an irregularly-braced steel frame, incorporating long-span floor systems and a sculptural steel entrance canopy.
